HA NOI (VNS) — The Vietnamese men's team defeated Indonesia 48-16 in the first match of the fourth Southeast Asian Handball Championship, which started in HCM City's Tan Binh Sports Centre on September 23.
In the women's competition, three-time champions Viet Nam tied with China's Hong Kong 24-24, while Thailand easily crushed Singapore 27-14. Tonight, the Thailand women's team face Indonesia and Singapore meet Hong Kong.
The Thai men's team will face Singapore.
The tournament, in which six teams are participating, will end on September 27. The players are competing in a round-robin format in both the men's and women's team categories.
