HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese designer Nguyen Minh Giang Tu is Viet Nam's representative at the ongoing International Fashion Showcase (IFS) taking place in London.
A winner of the Aquafina Pure Fashion Contest 2013 in Viet Nam in December, Tu has presented his latest collection, titled The Dreamers, at the IFS, which coincides with London Fashion Week 2014.
Launched in 2012, the IFS celebrates London's position as an international fashion city with a reputation for nurturing emerging talent.
Organised by the British Council and British Fashion Council, the show gathers almost 30 embassies and cultural institutions based in London to present the work of more than 120 designers. This makes it the largest exhibition to date. This year, 16 countries from four continents have joined the IFS, which began on February 13 and will continue until February 23.
At London Fashion Week 2014, which just wrapped up on February 18, two Vietnamese models Hoang Thuy and Huyen Trang walked the ramp. The two were selected as leading models in several shows of emerging designers, including Liz Black, George Styler and Jean-Pierre Braganza.
Both Trang and Thuy were the winners of the Viet Nam's Next Top Model contest in 2010 and 2011, respectively. — VNS
