HCM CITY (VNS)— The Nguoi Dep Va Long Nhan Ai 2013 (Beauty and Charity 2013) event held on Wednesday night in HCM City raised VND250 million (US$11,500) that will be used to help disadvantaged people.
Among the models participating in the event were Dieu Han, Vo Hoang Yen, Truong Chi Truc Diem and Thu Hang.
The beauties took to the catwalk to present the Viet Nam Gam Hoa (Damask and Brocade of Viet Nam) collection of ao dai by famous designer Thuan Viet as well as the Nang Dem (Night's sunlight) collection by designer Pham Dang Anh Thu, who has launched the Joli Poli brand.
Using the funds raised now and the first edition of the programme held last November ($14,000), organisers plan to hand over three houses in Kien Giang to poor residents and gifts for children. They will also reopen a school in Hue and offer scholarships to poor pupils. — VNS
