HA NOI (VNS)– Vietnamese photographer Tran Van Tuy was one of the winners of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Photo Contest 2013.

The announcement was made on Wednesday at the concluding senior officials' meeting in Bali. Tuy won third place for his photo Catching Sunlight, which competed in the section Sustainable Growth with Equity.

The First prize went to Electric Circuitry by Jonathan Shun Jie Chiang from Singapore for his entry in Sustaining Momentum to Free and Open Trade.

A photo titled Iron Men by McLloyd T.Jumpay from the Philippines (Theme: Regional Connectivity) was awarded second prize. In addition, it also won the Popular Choice Award which was selected by the public through the APEC Facebook Photo Contest App.

The annual APEC Photo Contest invites photographers to portray how trade is reflected in the lives of people in the region. This year's contest focused on the APEC 2013 priorities of attaining the Bogor goals of free and open trade, sustainable growth with equity and regional connectivity.

"About 600 photos were submitted from all over the APEC region. All three images uniquely reflect our theme for this year," said Ambassador Yuri Thamrin, Chair of the APEC 2013 senior officials.

All these photos will be showcased during the 2013 APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Bali this month as well as in key APEC publications. – VNS
