Viet Nam have been selected to host the qualification round of football's Asian Under-19 Women's Championships to be held in HCM City on December 1-9.

Twelve teams, including India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Palestine, will take part in a pre-qualification round on October 19-28 to seek six positions in the qualifiers.

According to the rules, Viet Nam and Thailand – who took sixth and seventh place in the last tournament – will move straight to the qualifying round. They will join six teams in Viet Nam to vie for a place in the final round.

The top team of the qualifying round will compete against Japan, South Korea, North Korea, China and Australia in the semi-finals and final in 2013.

The Asian Football Confederation will arrange the draws and the schedule of matches.-VNS
