HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's U19 team are confident of beating Myanmar in the final of the Southeast Asian (SEA) U22 Football Championships in Brunei today.
French coach Guillaume Graechen confirmed this with an upbeat message in Brunei yesterday.
Graechen said Myanmar were a strong team. They played well and won all five matches. They were trained carefully and Myanmar fans had great expectations for them, but Viet Nam were determined to do their best and were confident of winning.
Graechen said his team had made fast progress after taking part in training courses in Europe and Japan.
In other football news, Viet Nam lost 1-2 to Thailand in the qualifying round of the ASEAN Women's U19 Football Championships in Bangkok yesterday.
The hosts are now top of the rankings after three wins, followed by Viet Nam with two wins. — VNS
