HA NOI (VNS) — Weightlifter Vuong Thi Huyen won two gold medals in the women's 48kg category at the ongoing Asian Weightlifting Championships in Phukhet, Thailand, on Sunday.
Huyen lifted 81kg, 83kg and 86kg in the snatch category. She won a gold medal, lifting 3kg more than China's Huang Yuezhen in the final lift.
In the clean and jerk category, she lifted 100kg and 104kg, but failed to lift 106kg.
Huang Yuezhen failed to beat Huyen again, as she could not lift 108kg in the final lift. Huyen won her second gold medal with a total lift of 190kg.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese weightlifter Tran Le Quoc Toan won two silver medals and a bronze medal. — VNS
