Vovinam would feature at the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Myanmar next year, general secretary of the World Vovinam Federation Vo Danh Hai has announced.
It will also be played at the Asian Beach Games 2016 to be held for the first time in Viet Nam.
In preparation for these events, Vietnamese masters will help Myanmar's athletes train and compete in Viet Nam.
Vovinam is a Vietnamese martial art founded by Nguyen Loc in 1938 with the intent of providing practitioners with an efficient method of self-defense after a short period of study. Nowadays, it is popular throughout the region and the world.
Dong Thap to host world shuttlecock event
The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap will hold the World Shuttlecock Championships 2013.
The provincial People's Committee announced it planned to upgrade and repair facilities in time for next May.
The opening and closing ceremony will be broadcast live.
Dong Thap successfully held the National Individual Shuttlecock Championships last month. — VNS
