HA NOI (VNS)-- Under the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Viet Nam Television (VTV) has sent documents to Vietnamese television stations to propose plans to buy the English Premier League (EPL) television rights in Viet Nam from 2013 to 2016.

VTV also suggested that television stations should appoint a representative to join the management board in charge or procuring the rights.

Le Dinh Cuong, deputy chairman and general secretary of the Viet Nam Pay Television Association (VNPayTV), said they would take part in negotiations to ensure the best price.

The Audio Vision Global Company also confirmed its participation in proceedings.

Last November, the US's IMG Group won the auction for the 2013-16 EPL television rights in Viet Nam. The group's representatives came to Viet Nam in mid-January to meet with Vietnamese TV stations to sell the television rights of the world's most watched league at a reported cost of up to US$37.5 million. - VNS
