HA NOI (VNS) — Argentina Culture Week will begin in Ha Noi on Monday, showcasing a range of typical cultural and artistic features.
The Embassy of Argentina will fly their culture, music, cuisine, dance, films, pictures and examples of their businesses to Viet Nam.
Hanoians will have the unique opportunity to try Argentine beef and delicious wines, learn how to cook local delicacies, enjoy a tango show, listen to Argentine electronic-tango-folk-rock music, attend to a photographic exhibition and even watch national films.
For the first time in Viet Nam, the embassy will offer locals the chance to experience a real Argentine week.
"We want Vietnamese people to have the opportunity to enjoy true Argentine days," said Claudio Gutierrez, Ambassador of Argentina to Viet Nam.
"After the success of the first Argentine night in Ha Noi last year, the country is ready to double the bet, bringing more Argentine components to strengthen the bonds between both countries," said Gutierrez.
"A famous chef, a DJ, a Tango couple, a business delegation, a photographer together with a film crew are coming to infuse the distinctive, passionate, Argentine flavour."
The marathon of activities will begin with the presentation of the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute and some beef exporters that will hold business to business meetings.
This will be followed by a genuine Argentine Night, where locals will have the chance to try authentic food cooked by the renowned Chef Pedro Lambertini, listen to music featured by Argentine DJ Pato Di Bernardo and enjoy a tango show performed by Julieta Biscione and Roberto Castillo.
On Tuesday, Lambertini and Chef Chung Nguyen, from Sheraton Ha Noi Hotel, will teach how to prepare Western and Vietnamese dishes with Argentine beef. The cooking class will take place at the hotel and open for everyone interested.
A photographic exhibition featuring ordinary life in the cities of Argentina captured by photographers Juliana Montani, Gabriela Cecilia Bardon and Nacho Calderon will come to Ha Noi on Wednesday.
The Ambassador will warmly welcome all visitors to the exhibition Urbana: City View, which will be held at his residence at Villa 10, Quang Ba Street, Ha Noi.
Thursday and Friday have been saved for the cinema. The South American country's movies are acclaimed worldwide (Oscar selection The Official Story, The Secret in Their Eyes, and Wild Tales, among others).
For this occasion, the audience will have the chance to watch a comedy, Vinyl Days; a drama, Natural Sciences; and a comedy/crime movie, Tracks to Return Home.
Entrance is free but the Ambassador noted that the Ha Noi Cinematheque at 22A Hai Ba Trung Street has only 100 seats.
Ambassador Gutierrez hoped the Argentina Culture Week would open new avenues for cultural co-operation between the two countries, and especially help in familiarising each other's people with the countries' typical cultural identities. — VNS
