The national women's football team will receive US$580,000 to prepare for coming tournaments.

The funds will pay for training courses in South Korea next month, Chinese Taipei in November and Australia next May.

The Viet Nam Football Federation said it would also organise several friendly international matches so that the squad will be in top form before the tournaments.

The team will take part in the ASEAN Football Cup in September, the Southeast Asian Games in December and the finals of the 2014 Asian Cup in May.-VNS
