HA NOI (VNS) — The Viet Nam Volleyball Federation rewarded the national women's volleyball team with VND250 million (US$11,900), after they finished fifth at the recent Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in Tianjin, China.
It is the best rank that Viet Nam have earned at the continental level.
Previously, they had finished sixth in the 2003 and 2013 tournaments.
At the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, the women's volleyball team are in Group B with Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. The men's team are also in Group B alongside Cambodia, Indonesia and the hosts Singapore.
The competitions will begin on June 9. — VNS
