Wrestlers take lead at pre-SEA


Viet Nam took the lead in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championships, a pre-SEA Games event, which wrapped up in Myanmar on Monday.

HA NOI (VNS)– Viet Nam took the lead in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championships, a pre-SEA Games event, which wrapped up in Myanmar on Monday.

Viet Nam sent 16 wrestlers to take part in the event with all athletes receiving gold medals. Singapore finished second with three golds and Myanmar third with one gold medal.

The five-day event attracted nearly 100 athletes from six countries in the region including Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam and the hosts Myanmar.

Vietnamese wrestlers will continue to hone their skills in the Asian Wrestling Championships next week. – VNS
