HA NOI (VNS) — The organisers of For the Future of Viet Nam Football programme will conduct a two-day camp this weekend in Ha Noi to select young players.

In its fourth edition, the organisers will select 150 young athletes in three groups: under-6, under-8, and under-10.

Following their selection, the groups will take part in a three-week training course from June 8 to 27, focusing on basic football techniques, team spirit, life skills, self-confidence, as well as sportsmanship.

The free camp will be conducted by Japanese trainer Masakuni Yamamoto, who is a former manager of Japan U23, along with his colleagues and well-known Vietnamese coaches.

Similar camps will be organised in Vinh City on June 21 to pick125 children. The training course here will be for two weeks, from June 29 to July 11.

The programme has been organised and sponsored by Yamaha Motor Vietnam since 2007.

It is part of the company's commitment to developing stable and comprehensive football opportunities among the country's grassroots. — VNS
