A special performance has opened Culture Tourism Week to commemorate
Vietnamese celebrated poet Nguyen Du (1766-1820) in his homeland in the
central province of Ha Tinh''s Nghi Xuan District.
A ceremony was held recently to honour vi giam, a type of folk singing in
the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. The traditional art has
received a slot on UNESCO''s world intangible heritage list.
Vietnamese work songs are in the running to become
UNESCO symbols of intangible world heritage, along with 45 other
cultural practices across the globe.
Every day more than 1,000 tourists visit the Dong
Loc T-Junction Historical Area in the central province of Ha Tinh as it
prepares to mark the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on
Sunday.
The Ha Tinh Province''s People''s Committee in co-operation with is
partners will organise a special cultural programme to mark the 46th
anniversary of the Dong Loc Junction Victory on July 24, 1968.
One hundred and twenty-five photographs capturing sea, landscapes,
cultural activities and people in central region provinces are on
display for the public in Quang Binh Province.
The Viet Nam Photographic Artists Association has criticised Ngo Sy Ngo,
head of the Thanh Sen photography club in central Ha Tinh province, for
copyright violation after he failed to correctly credit the pictures
featured in a photo book that he published.
Specialists have collected many pottery and bronze artefacts dating
from the 13th century during a survey in Huong Son District in the
central province of Ha Tinh, said Le Ba Hanh, vice director of the Ha
Tinh Provincial Museum.
