Five luxury properties situated in each of the country''s most compelling
destinations are working to position Viet Nam as an attraction for
affluent travellers.
Mui Ne beach in the central province of Binh Thuan has been rated by travel guide Canadian Travellers as one of the 11 most beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia.
Khanh Hoa Province, home to world-known Nha Trang
Beach, is set to get 10 four-star and five-star hotels with nearly 3,000
rooms in 2014 and the next few years as the province hopes to attract
more well-heeled travellers.
Many local travellers are favouring tours to regional countries like
Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Long-haul tours to Europe, the US,
Australia and Canada have also seen high sales.
Viet Nam gained a boost to its burgeoning reputation as a tourism hub
after Ha Noi, HCM City, Hoi An and Ha Long were all listed in Asia''s Top
25 Destinations list, receiving the TripAdvisor Travellers'' Choice:
Asia Destination Awards 2013.
Trekking routes across the karst plateau of Dong Van
Town, situated in northeast Ha Giang Province, have become increasingly
popular since being recognised as part of the Global Network of
National Geoparks (GGN) in 2010.
Viet Nam has emerged as one of the top destinations
for travellers from Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and South Korea,
according to a recent Visa Global Travel Intentions Survey released in
Ha Noi last week.
