The HCM City Tourism Association has kicked off the
domestic tourism promotion programme, with the participation of Vietnam
Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Sai Gon Railway Company, to
offer attractive discounts for ticket fares.
The Cam Ranh International Airport saw a total of
2.7 million passengers from the beginning of this year, an increase of
20 per cent year-on-year. Around 880,000 of them were foreigners, up by
32 per cent.
Though the traditional Tet festival is near, many
air tickets for flights from HCM City to the provinces in the central
region and the north remain unsold.
Budget carriers Jetstar Pacific and Air Mekong are adding more flights
from HCM City and Ha Noi to tourist destinations around the country to
meet the surging demand for air travel, particularly during weekends.
