A send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese delegation to
the 28th Southeast Asian Games is planned at the National Sports Centre
in Ha Noi on May 19, marking the 125th anniversary of the birth of
President Ho Chi Minh.
Over 170 athletes will compete at the National Short-Course Swimming
and Diving Championships at the central city of Da Nang''s Aquatic Sports
Centre from March 24-31.
Can Tho topped the National Junior Karatedo Championships at the Thua
Thien-Hue Sports Centre on Sunday, with eight gold medals, four silver
and six bronze.
Around 18 athletes will compete in the National
Short-Course Swimming and Finswimming Championship at Thua Thien-Hue
Aquatic Sports Centre on March 16-23, the Viet Nam Aquatic Sports
Association said yesterday.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the
People''s Committee of southern Binh Thuan province have agreed on plans
to build a National Beach Sports Centre in the province.
