Art by children who entered a road safety painting
contest went on display today as one among a series of cultural events
the culture ministry holds to celebrate the capital''s Liberation Day on
October 10.
Veteran artists have expressed some anxiety about
the quality of sculptures by young artists at a recent seminar organised
by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association in Ha Noi.
Forty artists from Thailand and the country gathered at the Hue
Printmaking Workshop, which opened yesterday and will continue for 10
days in Hue City, the former royal capital.
Vietnamese professional and amateur sculptors have
been invited to submit works d between 2003 and 2013 to organisers
of the 5th National Sculpture Exhibition.
A painting exhibition of works on patriotic themes
opened on Wednesday at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum, an annual activity
organised by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association.
Artists and fine-arts lovers yesterday celebrate the birth of Nguyen Phan Chanh (1892-1984) in Ha Noi. "Chanh
is considered one of Viet Nam''s foremost silk artists," said Tran Khanh
Chuong, chairman of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association.
