On the occasion of the 70th anniversary celebrations
of Viet Nam''s National Day (September 2), Lao National Television
officially broadcasted the first news-bulletin in Vietnamese to further
strengthen the relationship between Laos and Viet Nam.
Over 500 representatives of television broadcasters
around the country as well as Japan and South Korea gathered yesterday
in Hue to discuss the challenges and opportunities brought by the
internet.
The 34th National Television Festival will kick off in central Hue City
on Wednesday with the screenings of some 500 television programmes
produced by Viet Nam Television (VTV), local television stations and
communication companies.
A documentary about conservation efforts to protect the white short
langur, a primate listed as Critically Endangered in the Red Book, was
awarded the Special Golden Prize at the 33rd National Television
Festival.
Television employees from throughout the country will gather in the
northern coastal city of Ha Long at the annual National Television
Festival, being held from Wednesday to Saturday.
A TV serial entitled Dan Troi (Heaven''s Altar) won a
Gold Prize at the 32nd National Television Festival, which ended on
Saturday in the central city of Vinh, Nghe An Province.
A documentary from Nghe An Television entitled
Forest Destruction is one of the leading competitors for the top prize
in the documentary and reportage category at the 32nd National
Television Festival, opening here tomorrow.
A series entitled The Chronicle of Laos, exploring
the scenery, people, culture and history of the neighbouring nation, is
currently screening on Viet Nam National Television (VTV).
