Viet Nam and Japan will have to battle it out today to survive in their
second Group C match following opening defeats at the AFC Under-19
Football Championships at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Myanmar''s capital
of Naypyitaw.
Japan trounced host Viet Nam 7-0 during the second round match of an
international under-19 football tournament, the Nutifood Cup, held at
the HCM City''s Thong Nhat Stadium yesterday.
The national under-19 football team made a strong impression after
winning a ticket to play in the finals of the Asian championships in
Myanmar later this year.
Viet Nam will face Uzbekistan in its first Group C
match at the Asian Football Confederation''s Under-19 Football
Championship in the United Arab Emirates on November 4.
Viet Nam''s hopes of qualifying for the final at the
Asean Football Federation Under-19 football championships were destroyed
after the team went down 3-0 to Australia in the second match yesterday
at Thong Nhat Stadium, HCM City.
