HÀ NỘI — An exhibition showcasing a selection of masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian National Gallery has opened at Việt Nam Fine Arts Museum (VNFAM).
The exhibition introduces 30 digital copies of Hungarian and European fine art pieces from the collection at the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts.
The Budapest Museum and its multi-faceted collections, along with their historical continuity, coupled with the large number of masterpieces, has a prestigious place among public collections.
"This is a very meaningful cultural event that brings renowned masterpieces of various masters of art in Europe closer to the public and art lovers in Việt Nam," said VNFAM Director Nguyễn Anh Minh at the opening ceremony.
The digital exhibition aims to bring the unique masterpieces both from El Greco, Bruegel, Raffaello and Dürer and the rich Hungarian fine arts heritage represented by the works of Mihály Munkácsy, Pál Szinyei Merse, János Rippl-Rónai, closer to a Vietnamese audience.

It includes interactive panels providing the audience with a Hungarian and European artworks experience that would otherwise not be achieved because of the long distance between Budapest and Hà Nội.
Visitors can discover the Liget Budapest Project, Hungary’s largest cultural development project creating a new museum quarter via interactive touch screens.
"I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the VNFAM for their support and especially for hosting our event," said Hungarian ambassador Tibor Baloghdi.
The exhibition is being held on the occasion of Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It runs until September 25 at 66 Nguyễn Thái Học Street. VNS
