HÀ NỘI The Hà Nội Department of Culture and Sports and local art troupes are organising several art programmes to pay tribute to war invalids and martyrs on the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-2022).
The programmes are being held on outdoor stages between July 21 to 27.
The highlight art show, entitled Thời Hoa Đỏ (The Time of Red Flowers), was held by the Hà Nội culture authority at Vạn Xuân Garden by Hoàn Kiếm Lake. The 90-minute programme featured song and dance performances in commemoration of war invalids and fallen soldiers.
For the occasion, each of Hà Nội’s art troupes will build two art programmes to perform in most districts throughout the city.
The Thăng Long Music and Dance Theatre will perform at the cultural centres of Nam Từ Liêm and Tây Hồ districts; the Thăng Long Puppet Theatre will hold performances in Sóc Sơn and Đông Anh districts; and Hà Nội’s Cải Lương Theatre will perform in Hoàng Mai and Thanh Trì districts, among others.
In the meantime, the Việt Nam Circus Federation organised the fourth version of the special art programme Đi Cùng Năm Tháng (Along with the Years), with the theme Vùng Trời Bình Yên (Peaceful Sky) on three days, July 23, 24 and 27.
Previous versions of the programme, held annually on War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, received big hands from the audience via emotional and artistic performances.

The Peaceful Sky show also includes many high-quality art performances by the talented circus artists, in the backdrop of the theme songs praising the love of the homeland and the undefeated spirit of the Vietnamese soldiers and people during their wars of resistance.
According to People's Artist Tống Toàn Thắng, the scriptwriter of the event, the special art programme aims to express gratitude and praise the sacrifices and merits of war invalids and fallen soldiers, and at the same time, educate today's young generation about patriotism.
"It is expected to mobilise contributions to support the veterans, martyrs' families, Agent Orange victims, demonstrating Vietnamese tradition of showing gratitude as the Vietnamese saying 'When eating a fruit, be grateful to the grower'," he added. VNS
