Marsh Vinpearl Hải Phòng once again brought plenty of challenges to players today. In the morning session, most of the golfers encountered obstacles due to heavy rain. However, in the afternoon session, the sky was clearer and the course became dry, creating opportunities for players to show their skills in the best way. Overall, the first tournament day went quite smoothly.
PGA Phạm Minh Đức, who had an outstanding record at Vietnam Masters 2017 got off to a flying start with the final total score of 1 under par. After missing the first two holes, he was back on top of things when continuously taking back 2 extremely impressive birdie.
Đức also ended his round with 3 birdies in a row on holes 16, 17 and 18. With a total of 71 strokes, he is tied for 2nd place with the young amateur Hùng who made a big splash in the Vietnamese Golf community today, having an impressive opening with 1 eagle and 3 birdies. Unfortunately, the 15 year old athlete got 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey, with the final score of 1 under par.
Currently ranking the first in Men's Division, Korean Park Sang Ho is the only one with the record of 2 under par when he scored 4 birdies and got 2 bogeys in the first round.
In the Women's Division, Nguyễn Thảo My along with 3 Korean girls - Lina Kim, Park Jung Min and Park Si Eun are currently tied for first place. These four players hit a total of 76 strokes, scoring a total of 4 over par.
Reigning Vietnam Open 2022 Lina Kim shot 3 birdies yet getting 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey which caused 4 over par in total after the first day of competition. My impressed with 3 birdies on holes 5,11 and 16, however her 7 bogeys made her unable to have a breakthrough on the opening day of the Tour.
