ĐỒNG THÁP – Đồng Tháp Province is set to organise the 2023 Mango Festival from April 28 to May 1 to promote the fruit and products made from it.
It will bring together businesses and seek to attract investment in mango processing and exports.
It is also expected to help promote Cao Lãnh’s mango products and orchard-related tourism.
The fruit is one of the key agricultural products of the province, which has the largest area under it in the Mekong Delta region.
The director of the province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyễn Văn Vũ Minh, said the province has more than 14,000ha under mango, and an annual output of nearly 137,000 tonnes.
A wide range of activities are planned during the festival, including trade fairs, exhibitions of mango products, other province's specialities, agricultural equipment, application of science and technology to the mango sector.
There will be seminars on mango farming.
The province has, in the past, successfully organised similar festivals for lotus, tangerine and pangasius. – VNS
