HÀ NỘI — Students from the London College of Design and Fashion yesterday showcased their graduation collections at Melia Hanoi Hotel.
The show included the participation of fashion icons, models, and experts like Lê Thị Quỳnh Trang – chairwoman of the Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers (CAFD) and Trần Nguyễn Thiên Hương representative of Harper’s Bazaar Việt Nam.
This year it highlights collections of 15 young designers including Lương Thu Giang with Abstract Fantasy inspired by the Land of Oz, Hoàng Quang Duy with Nothing Dangerous inspired by mountain climbers and Trần Ngọc Hiền with Future Past, a combination of past, present and future.
With the theme Utopia, the designers want to build an ideal world by criticising the dark sides of the society, honouring forgotten traditional heritage and fighting for equality.
The exhibition of the collections, from initial ideas, sketching, manufacturing to marketing will run through Monday with photos, art profiles, films and catwalks.
Founded in 2004, LCDF has nurtured designers who are famous at home and abroad such as Kelly Bui, Diego Chula, Lâm Gia Khang, Vũ Tá Linh and Joshua Hoan Nguyễn. — VNS
