Well-known flower villages in HCM City and the Mekong Delta are ready to welcome visitors during Tết (Lunar New Year) festival, which will begin on February 12 this year.
Located in Hóc Môn District, only 15km from the centre of HCM City, the flower field in Nhị Bình Commune has recently become an attractive destination for tourists in the city and neighbouring provinces.
The 14,000-square metre garden offers a wide range of flowers such as lavender, sunflower, orchid, heathbell, and rose.
It is decorated with windmills, small wooden houses and hearts made of flowers aiming to create a miniature of Europe.

The village has also created scenes portraying traditional Tết with a calligraphy market from the past.
Dozens of ochna and peach blossom trees are set up along with terra-cotta statues of pigs to bring a Tết atmosphere to the city.
Together with an immense field of flowers, there is a lake of purple water lilies where visitors can travel by boat.
Võ Hà Anh Tú, owner of the Nhị Bình flower village, said: “I love flowers. So I travelled across the country to collect beautiful kinds of flowers and then learned how to grow them.”
After conducting several plant experiments, Tú succeeded in building the flower village.
"I want to build a place for people, especially the city's residents, to come to relax, away from crowded, polluted urban areas,” she said.
In addition, the village has bungalows as accommodations for visitors.
Nguyễn Thu Hà, mother of two daughters in Đồng Nai Province, said: “I found out about this flower field via social media, so my family had a tour to the garden last weekend. We had an interesting day and took beautiful photos.”
“I’ll come back more with my family and friends,” she added.
The flower field is located in Nhị Bình Commune, Hóc Môn District. The entrance fee to the venue is VNĐ80,000.

Sa Đéc Flower Village in Đồng Tháp Province is the largest flower village in the Mekong Delta region. About 140 kilometres from HCM City, the 100-year-old village is known for “having four springs” as locals grow flowers all year round.
It has become a must-visit spot during the Lunar New Year holiday, the best time to see blooming flowers.
Visitors have a chance to take photos in an area of 313ha planted with more than 2,000 types of flowers, bonsai and ornamental trees from different regions of Việt Nam.
Apart from popular flowers like chrysanthemum and marigold, the village has 50 varieties of imported roses. New types of flowers like petunia, forget me not, magnolia as well as pepino melon from South America have been introduced.
The highlights of the village are ornamental trees over 100 years old, such as starfruit tree, fig tree and ochna.
Artisans at Sa Đéc have created special bonsai in different shapes and sizes, reflecting significant meanings about love, motherhood and philosophy.
The flower village is a busy spot before Tết where local traders buy flowers. They deliver flowers to many regions of Việt Nam, including HCM City, Cần Thơ, An Giang and the central and northern provinces.
It has also exported flowers to Cambodia for many years, and is targeting new markets in the future.
