HÀ NỘI — War memorabilia and documents reflecting resistance wars in the past have been put on display at the Việt Nam National Museum of History.

The exhibition Historical Milestones of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) kicked off yesterday in Hà Nội to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Party.

Vietnamese history showed freedom and happiness could be realised only when there was a new social class in the political arena of Việt Nam, namely the working class, the vanguard of the CPV, said the museum’s director Nguyễn Văn Cường.

The exhibition comprises three parts, the establishment of the Communist Party in 1930, historical milestones and the development of the Party.

“Since 1930, the Party initiated and led by President Hồ Chí Minh has grown and empowered Vietnamese people and soldiers in liberating and rebuilding the country,” said Cường.

“With the direction and leadership of the Party, the country gained independence and freedom; and gradually developed and integrated into the world.”

The exhibition displays precious objects such as Đường Kách Mệnh (Revolutionary Path) compiled by Nguyễn Ái Quốc (another name of President Hồ) in 1927, which was recognised as the National Treasure in 2012; war memorabilia of general secretaries of the Party, a collection of posters and newsletters of the Party before September 2, 1945; and a collection of decrees and resolutions of the Party before 1945.

“Through the exhibition, we hope the public, especially young people, will understand more about the history and development of the Party, the achievements of the Party and people during history, then they will be aware of the pride and responsibility in protecting and building the nation,” said Cường.

Sculptures and paintings by famous artists such as Dương Đăng Cẩn, Trần Văn Cẩn, Diệp Minh Châu and others artworks that were given to President Hồ by international friends are also on display.

The exhibition will run until the end of April at the Việt Nam National Museum of History, 25 Tông Đản Street, Hà Nội. — VNS
