Photos depicting life, people in Hà Nội

MOMENT: The first runner-up prize went to Nguyễn Ngọc Bình for the photo Friendly showing a foreigner taking photos for a Vietnamese woman in áo dài (traditional long dress). 

HÀ NỘI — Photos depicting landscapes, life and people in the capital are on display at an exhibition opened on Friday.

The show is the result of the annual contest held by the Hà Nội Association of Photographic Artists to celebrate 65 years since the capital’s liberation (October 10).

The exhibition showcases 122 photos selected from 1,900 entries sent by 320 photographers.

They express the classical and modern beauty of the city, the life of Hanoians, the cultural exchange between locals and foreigners, traditional festivals, and handicraft and trade villages, according to Đặng Đình An, chairman of the association.

CONCENTRATE: The photo Passion by Trần Thị Hồng Minh shows a girl painting a statue.

The art council gave top prize to Trần Thị Hồng Minh for the photo Passion, reflecting a girl focused on painting a statue.

The first runner-up prize went to Nguyễn Ngọc Bình with the photo Friendly showing a foreigner taking photos for a Vietnamese woman in áo dài (traditional long dress).

The exhibition will run until September 30 at the Exhibition House, 45 Tràng Tiền Street, Hà Nội. — VNS
