Spackman Entertainment Group's Upcoming Movie, CRAZY ROMANCE, To Be Produced by Zip Cinema, Commences Filming And Set To Premiere In Korea In 2019

  • CRAZY ROMANCE, a romantic comedy film starring Kim Rae-won and Gong Hyo-jin, is produced by the Group's indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Zip Cinema

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach - 9 January 2019 Spackman Entertainment Group Limited ("Spackman Entertainment Group" or the "Company" and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group"), one of Korea's leading entertainment production groups founded by international investor Charles Spackman, wishes to announce that the next major film to be produced by Zip Cinema Co., Ltd. ("Zip Cinema"), the Company's indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, is a romantic comedy movie, with the working title CRAZY ROMANCE. The film began filming on 7 January 2018 and is slated to be released in  2019.

 

Starring Kim Rae-won of DOCTORS (2016) & MY LITTLE BRIDE (2004) and Gong Hyo-jin of DON'T DARE TO DREAM (2016) & CRUSH AND BLUSH (2008), CRAZY ROMANCE is Zip Cinema's upcoming film following its Korean financial crisis movie, DEFAULT, which accumulated more than 3.7 million tickets and grossed more than US$27 million at the Korean box office.  DEFAULT is presently at the post-theatrical stage and is starting to record online Video On Demand sales.

 

CRAZY ROMANCE is the first commercial film made by independent film director Kim Han-gyeol. It also marks 16 years since Kim Rae-won and Gong Hyo-jin last collaborated in Korean drama SNOWMAN.

 

The estimated total production budget (including prints and advertising costs) for CRAZY ROMANCE is tentatively set at approximately KRW6.7 billion (or US$6.0 million). The film is presented and distributed by Next Entertainment World Co., Ltd.
