HCM CITY — Beauty queen H’Hen Niê has released a series of photos she took in Sơn Đoòng Cave during her four-day expedition a few days before Tết (Lunar New Year).
She is in a yellow áo dài (Vietnamese traditional long dress), a traditional Ede outfit and a yellow long dress as she poses for photos in the world's largest cave in the Phong Nha- Kẻ Bàng National Park in the central province of Quảng Bình.
Her 20km trip was with 35 other people, including Howard Limbert, an expert with the British Cave Research Association.
It was a once in a lifetime experience, she said in a press release.
The 2017 Miss Universe Vietnam said she was overwhelmed by the natural wonders of Sơn Đoòng Cave and was proud of the country’s natural beauty.
She wanted to be in an áo dài for the astonishing moment in the enormous cave, she said.
“Vietnamese women exude most elegance and beauty when they wear an áo dài.”
Many contestants at the 2018 Miss Universe had asked her about the cave, and she wished to make the journey to promote the country’s natural wonders around the world, she said.
