HA NOI — Simple children’s stories are told in a new book by Tran Ngoc Anh Thu which has been released in Ha Noi.
The book, Just The Way She Thinks, was launched on Tuesday in Vietnamese and English to serve both domestic and international readers.
In the book, Thu shares her own memories from when she was young, including beautiful moments and difficulties that every child faces.
The book is about emotions that Thu expects readers can relate to and children can find lessons to solve their troubles.
The book is illustrated with sketches by Thu’s daughter, Nguyen Khanh Vy.
Thu considers the book a gift for her daughter and other children. Parents should read the books together with their kids, and help them understand how precious life is.
“A long path awaits you, my dear,” writes Thu.
“You may face difficulties, sometimes encounter failure. Remember, be steady, resolute, confident and strong. All the obstacles will be gone if you believe in yourself, be industrious and always be eager to learn.”
“Lazy people always blame their destiny. There is no way to avoid sorrow, regret, disappointment and pain in life. Always look on the bright side to find ways to bounce back, to do good things and live the best version.”
The book launch attracted the attention of many parents and children as well as celebrities.
“When you look into the mirror, you can see yourself at that moment. But when you read the book, you can see yourself during childhood,” said director Hoang Manh Cuong.
“They are modest and innocent stories, some of them even silly, seen through the eyes of children. The world starts from stories like them. It’s like a tree starting from its seed.”
Thu’s book can be compared with Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window, journalist Diem Quynh from Viet Nam Television remarked.
“Thu preserved beautiful moments in her heart and now she shares them with us,” said Quynh.
Phu Nu (Women) Publishing House also introduced the book at the Frankfurt Book Fair which took place on October 10-14. — VNS
