HA NOI (VNS) — The fifth Viet Nam International Book Fair will take place in Ha Noi's Thong Nhat Park from Thursday.
Hosted by the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution under the Ministry of Information and Communication, the annual fair will feature 200 stalls with than 100 Vietnamese and foreign publishing houses.
According to the department's deputy head, Nguyen Ngoc Bao, this year's event will take place in an open-air venue, hoping to attract more visitors – especially young people.
The event will also include an exhibition displaying old documents and objects related to the development of book publishing and distribution in Viet Nam through different historical periods.
In addition, about 3,000 books and publications on Viet Nam's development and integration will be on display.
The book fair's agenda features several other sideline activities such as book launches, discussions with writers and a signing ceremony on copyright exchange. The book fair will wrap up on September 14. — VNS
