THUA THIEN-HUE — More than 400 books on the culture, geology and history on the central city of Hue are on display in the downtown area of the city.
The books have been written by researchers and teachers living in Hue, such as Phan Thuan An, Ho Vinh, Tran Dai Vinh and Nguyen Dac Xuan.
Various local book stores such as Phu Xuan Book Store, Thuan Hoa Publishing House, Lieu Quan Hue Culture Buddhism Centre and Hue Monuments Conservation Centre have also brought out ancient books written by the Nguyen dynasty’s royal historians and other contemporary writers in and outside the country.
“This is the first step in connecting traditional values in the past and present,” Nguyen Hong Hoa Tranh, director of the Hue Culture Museum, said. “We will gradually introduce the cultural heritage stock of the ancient imperial citadel.”
The exhibition will run at the Hue Culture Museum, 25 Le Loi Street, Hue City, till September 5. — VNS
