HCM CITY — Heartbeat Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Artist Agency Fund will hold a photo exhibition this month that will take an intimate look at the lives of 14 top celebrities to raise money for heart surgeries for poor children.

Cau Chuyen Cua Toi (My Better Truth) will seek to raise awareness of paediatric heart diseases in Viet Nam, donating all the funds raised from the sale of the photos for operations for kids with congenital heart defects.

It will run from April 25 to 27 at the HCM City Museum.

An invitation-only launch party next Friday will see appearances by celebrities like singer and actor Ngo Thanh Van, actor Johnny Tri Nguyen, emcee and actor Chi Bao, singers Dam Vinh Hung, Quang Dung, Dustin Nguyen, Thanh Thao, and Hong Nhung and dancer Linh Nga.

Linh Nga and Hung will also perform at the event.

There will be an auction of photos titled 12 Hours with Ngo Thanh Van and 12 Hours with Johnny Tri Nguyen and those of Dam Vinh Hung, Thanh Loc, and Linh Nga, a SIM card bearing a "lucky" number, and a special photograph that will only be revealed at the event.

Heartbeat Viet Nam, a programme by VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), has funded almost 1,400 life-saving heart operations since 2006 for children around Viet Nam, helped improve cardiac and paediatric care by providing training in telemedicine, donating equipment, and supporting provincial-level paediatric outreach centres.

Robin King Austin, CEO and executive director of VCF, said: "Ngo Thanh Van and Johnny Tri Nguyen have personally supported surgery for 12 children, and all the celebrities have put their heart, time, and resources into helping us save the precious lives of Vietnamese children." — VNS
