HÀ NỘI — Vietnam Publishing, Printing and Distribution Department will collaborate with the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Paris to establish a Vietnamese library at the centre.

According to Nguyễn Nguyên, the Director of the Department, the library will be equipped with a rich collection of books on Vietnamese literature, history and culture, helping the diaspora community in Paris to access and maintain the cultural identity of their homeland

During a visit to the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Paris on October 20, the Vietnam Publishing, Printing and Distribution Department also committed to collaborating with educational publishers and the HCM City University of Pedagogy to provide textbooks, reference materials and Vietnamese language teaching materials for Vietnamese classes at the centre.

This includes programmes and materials for instructors and students primarily in the form of online platforms and electronic resources. These materials are expected to make it easier for teachers to enhance the learning quality of students, especially the younger Vietnamese generation in France and Europe.

"In addition to supporting the library and resources, this collaboration aims to connect Vietnamese intellectuals in France and Europe with publishing entities in Việt Nam, Nguyên said.

“This will create opportunities to introduce knowledge and the cultural essence of the world to Vietnamese readers, while also encouraging the exchange and sharing of knowledge between cultures.

“This collaboration promises to bring many practical benefits, not only helping to preserve the Vietnamese language and culture but also facilitating the sustainable development of the Vietnamese community in France.

“In the future, cultural exchange programmes and educational workshops will also be held regularly to promote relationships between Việt Nam and the Vietnamese community abroad,” he added. — VNS
