HA NOI (VNS) — A collection of 15 books on the 1954 victory at Dien Bien Phu has been released by the People's Army Publishing House, to provide different accounts of the historic battle.
The collection includes Dien Bien Phu - Moc Vang Lich Su (Dien Bien Phu - Historic Golden Mark) by general Vo Nguyen Giap and Dien Bien Phu Qua Nhung Trang Tu Lieu (Dien Bien Phu Through File Pages) by a group of authors. Both books provide an analysis of the Party's political and military guidelines.
Three other books, namely Dien Bien Phu – Ky Uc 60 Nam (Dien Bien Phu – A 60 Year Memory) by Do Sam; Dien Bien Phu – Mot Ky Quan Lich Su (Dien Bien Phu – A Historic Wonder) by Hoang Lam and Dau Co Giac La Ta Cu Di (We'll March Where the Enemy Is) by Ha Noi-based former soldiers from Division 316, are diaries of people who participated in the battle.
A book titled Dien Bien Phu Duoi Goc Nhin Cua Nguoi Nuoc Ngoai (Dien Bien Phu Under Views by Foreigners) also features the various opinions of foreign participants who engaged in the battle.— VNS
