HA NOI (VNS) — About 30 valuable paintings from the collection of Nguyen Minh will soon be displayed in downtown Ha Noi.

The paintings, by leading Vietnamese modern fine art painters, will include 12 works of Le Pho (1907-2001), nine of Vu Cao Dam (1908-2000), six paintings of Mai Trung Thu (1906-1980) and one of Le Luu (1911-1988). Minh bought the paintings at various auctions in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States.

"Beside their fine art value, the paintings tell the long story of the return of paintings by noted Vietnamese artists from other countries," Minh said. "I have spent dozens of years searching for some famous paintings to bring them back home. Now the paintings have reached their must-visit destination, the Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum."
