HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội plans to name new streets after the country’s Trường Sa (Spartly) and Hoàng Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.
According to a recent proposal by the municipal people’s committee on naming and revising the length of a number of streets in 2016, Hoàng Sa Street will extend from the Võ Văn Kiệt Street intersection (opposite Thăng Long Industrial Zone) in Kim Chung Commune, in the outer district of Đông Anh, to the intersection at the foot of the Võ Nguyễn Giáp Street overpass.
The street is 4.8km long and 68m wide.
Trường Sa Street will extend from the intersection with the Võ Nguyễn Giáp flyover in Vĩnh Ngọc Commune, Đông Anh District, to the foot of Đông Trù Bridge in Đông Hội Commune.
It will be 7.3km long and 68m wide.
Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa streets are among 26 new streets proposed by the city.
As per the plan, the naming of the new streets will be carried out in early August. — VNS
