HA NOI — The images of Indonesia and the Asian Games 2018 have been promoted to Vietnamese people through live music, modern and traditional Indonesian dance performances and exciting games.
An event hosted by the Indonesian Embassy was held on Sunday on the walking streets in Ha Noi’s Old Quarter, to spread the message of fair-play spirit and celebrate the 18th Asian Games 2018 (ASIAD-18), which is scheduled for August 18 - September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
It was open to the public and attended by Indonesian citizens living in Ha Noi, representatives of Embassies in Ha Noi, foreign visitors and local people.
The Embassy of Indonesia also organised road shows with bicycles on the main streets around Hoan Kiem District on August 10.
With the theme “Energy of Asia”, which illustrates the diversity of culture, heritage, and legacy of all participating countries, ASIAD 2018 is not only a competition, but a playground for all Asian countries where athletes can show off their skills and national pride, said Ambassador Ibnu Hadi.
“Indonesia as the host country has prepared well for the Asian Games 2018, from improvements in infrastructure and facilities, public transportation and environmental hygiene,” he said.
It is expected that ASIAD will have a huge impact on the economy and tourism in Indonesia, especially in the two host cities of Jakarta and Palembang. — VNS
