Kites fly over peaceful skies

HA NOI - The Ha Noi Art Kite Festival will kick off tomorrow to celebrate the capital's millennium anniversary.

The capital's skyline will be filled with a variety of different types of kites, according to screenwriter Ngo Hong Tien from the Ha Noi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

"The festival will take place during the day and night with the participation of 124 artists from the country's three regions and Vietnamese artists from abroad," says Tien. "I think the event is going to draw lots of people."

Enthusiasts will be able to head to My Dinh Stadium's square on Le Duc Tho Street to watch the traditional and creatively designed kites take flight. -VNS
