HCM CITY — South Korean charity HansaeYes24 Foundation will donate 10,000 children’s books to libraries in 100 HCM City primary schools this month in an effort to encourage the reading habit.
This is for the third year it is gifting books and bookshelves to city schools.
Nguyễn Quang Vinh, head of the city Department of Education and Training’s primary education office, said the city has taken various initiatives to develop a reading culture among children in the past few years, including setting up child-friendly libraries at schools and donating books and bookshelves to them.
The donation is also a meaningful activity to celebrate Việt Nam Book Day, April 21, he said.
