HA NOI (VNS) — Copies of nearly 100 maps together with many documents, objects and publications confirming Viet Nam's sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes are on display at an exhibition in Phan Rang City in the central province of Ninh Thuan.
Among them are four sets of maps and other 30 maps published by China through different periods. They all show that the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes belong to Viet Nam.
The display, jointly held by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the provincial People's Committee, aims to promote national unity, especially among the younger generations, by protecting the country's sovereignty over its sea and islands.
The exhibits, which have been compiled and collected by domestic and international researchers and scholars, illustrate the processes by which Viet Nam established and exercised its sovereignty over the two archipelagoes.
Following the five-day event, the ministry will hand over the exhibits to Ninh Thuan Province for preservation and public display. — VNS
