HAØ NOÄI — Natural stone with a lifespan of 50 to 70 years will be used for all pavement surface in 12 districts of Haø Noäi, according to its Department of Construction in a meeting early this week.
The use of natural stone is to improve the city’s infrastructure by increasing the pavements’ lifespan, said a representative of the Construction Department.
Some districts including Hoaøn Kieam, Ba Ñinh, Thanh Xuaan, and Haø Ñoang have paved their roads with natural stone at a price of VNÑ500,000/sq.m (US$22.5/sq.m).
Most of Haø Noäi’s pavements were built with low quality brick with a shorter lifespan. The surface often fade and become slippery after a few months of use, which creates problems for locals, said Director of the department, Lea Vaen Duïc. — VNS
