THỪA THIÊN - HUẾ — The Huế Monuments Conservation Centre, in collaboration with IV COM Joint Stock Company, on July 11 launched a new virtual reality (VR) experience for tourists visiting the Huế Imperial Citadel in the central province of Thừa Thiên - Huế.

The experience, named Đầu Hồ, is based on a traditional court game popular during the Nguyễn Dynasty (1802 – 1945). It involves skillfully throwing long arrows into a jar from a certain distance. The rules are not complicated but the game demands high precision to achieve victory.

Up to eight players can compete simultaneously by wearing VR headsets. In the coming time, the centre plans to continue collaborating with partners to innovate and introduce more immersive VR experiences for tourists in their programme Exploring the Lost Imperial City.

In the first half of 2024, the number of tourists to the central province was estimated at over 1.9 million, up 24 per cent year-on-year, including over 821,000 foreigners. Tourism revenue was estimated at over VNĐ4 trillion (US$157.3 million), up nearly 11 per cent year-on-year. The centre alone sells an average of 10,000 tickets per day. — VNA/VNS
