QUẢNG NINH — The northern province of Quảng Ninh hosted a ceremony on Saturday to welcome the certificate of ASEAN Sustainable Urban Tourism Award given to Sa Vĩ border information cluster of Móng Cái City, which was announced in Brunei on January 16 this year.

Leaders from central sectors in Hà Nội joined more than 2,000 locals and tourists at the ceremony.
The Sa Vĩ border information cluster of Móng Cái City was built on a total area of 16,000sq.m, starting from 2009 and completed in October 2013. It includes a square, a monument, and a service area built using the State budget.
The cluster is situated inside Trà Cổ Relic Site, which was recognised as a National Tourism Site by the culture ministry on April 24 last year. This is the first national tourism site in Quảng Ninh and among four national tourism sites throughout the country.
At the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020, in Brunei, on January 16, the Sa Vĩ border information cluster of Móng Cái City (Quảng Ninh Province) and Thanh Đông Organic Vegetable Garden (Quảng Nam Province) representing Việt Nam were given the ASEAN Sustainable Rural or Urban Tourism Products Award 2020.
The ASEAN Sustainable Rural or Urban Tourism Products Award is an award of ASEAN honouring the brands of businesses and high-quality tourism products and services in the region.
It is also an opportunity for the units to promote and improve the effectiveness of Việt Nam tourism promotion and the 'Vietnam Timeless Charm' brand.
Located at the easternmost point of the country, Móng Cái City hosts magnificent landscape with mountains, rivers and sea as well as friendly people. —VNS
