HA NOI (VNS) – One of the most hotly anticipated rock concerts in Viet Nam – RockStorm – will kick off its new season next week.

Titled Chay Cho Khat Vong – RockStorm 2013 (Burning Desire), the concert will launch in the northern port city of Hai Phong on November 30 before rocking on to six other cities across the country.

The cities to host the rock show include Hue on December 7; Da Nang, December 14; Bien Hoa, December 21; and HCM City, December 28. Can Tho will host the event on January 4, while Ha Noi will get its turn on January 10.

The concert will feature numerous infamous Vietnamese rockers and award-winning bands, including Buc Tuong (The Wall), Microwave, Ngu Cung (Pentatonic) and KOP. Also part of the line-up are Oringchains and 18+Band.

The show will also present a special appearance by progressive metal band Andromera from Sweden.

Organised by Viet Nam's second-largest telecommunications service provider MobiFone, the rock concert debuted in 2008 and has become a significant annual music event in the country.

Besides dedicating itself to high-quality performances for the audience, RockStorm is also a springboard for many young rock bands. Audiences nationwide recently learned of the current hot favourite Quai Vat Ti Hon (The Tiny Monster) after their RockStorm debut in 2011. The KOP and 18+Band also boast a significant number of fans following their RockStorm performances last year.

In line with previous seasons, all the proceeds of this year's concert will be donated to charity activities. – VNS
