HÀ NỘI A special music and art programme was held on Sunday evening at the Opera House in central Hà Nội to celebrate the 130th birth anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh (May 19).
The programme titled Dâng Người Tiếng Hát Mùa Xuân (Spring Songs Dedicated to President Hồ) was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and VTV.
Broadcast live on VTV1, the programme was directed by People’s Artist Quang Vinh and featured performances by renowned artists from prestigious institutions like the Việt Nam National Opera and Ballet, Việt Nam Contemporary Art Theatre and the Việt Nam National Academy of Music.
It aimed to spotlight the late President’s life and career and his substantial contributions to the country’s revolution. It also formed part of the events in response to the movement "Studying and following Hồ Chí Minh’s moral example".
Attending the event was Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân and many other top Party and Government officials.
The event included three parts of performances themed Người là Hồ Chí Minh (He is Hồ Chí Minh), Những Bông Hoa Trong Vườn Bác (Flowers in Uncle Hồ's Garden) and Dâng Người Tiếng Hát Mùa Xuân (Spring Songs Dedicated to Him)
In the first part, artists offered works praising President Hồ's life and revolutionary career honouring his contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the liberation of the nation and to the movement of international communists and workers.
Part two included selected songs featuring different regional cultural characters and ethnic communities to express gratitude to and praise for the great work of President Hồ.
The last part focused on songs about the love of the people towards the President, including works of well-known composers such as Văn Cao, Cao Việt Bách, Đỗ Nhuận, Đỗ Trung Phong and Đoàn Bổng. VNS
