French Ambassador Jean Noel Poirier (right) vies for a ball against a Vietnamese footballer during a friendly football match at Xuan La Stadium in Tay Ho District, Ha Noi on Sunday. Jointly organised by the French and German embassies in Viet Nam to coincide with the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil 2014, the Friendly Football Tournament gathered teams from England, France, Germany, the US and the EU, which consisted of expats living and working in Viet Nam. The event also featured Vietnamese teams from the ministries of Transport; Education and Training; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Foreign Affairs; Planning and Investment; Public Security; and the Union of Former Vietnamese Students in France.
