HA NOI — Nguyen Thi Loan is among the top 20 at Miss Grand International 2016, which was held yesterday in the US. She is also among the pageant’s top 10 in the best national costume round.
“Being among the top 20 is a proud achievement to me. I feel a bit sorry for not having much time for better preparation and rehearsal. Yet I tried my best and would like to send my thanks to my family and audience who supported during the time I participated in the contest,” Loan told Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper.
“This is also a memorable landmark, which gives me motivation and passion to pursue my career,” Loan said.
Loan also displayed an impressive performance in the bikini and evening gown rounds in the semi-final on October 24.
The Miss Grand International 2016 title was won by Indonesia and the first runners up title went to the Philippines, Thailand, Puerto Rico and the US.
The pageant was held in Las Vegas with the participation of nearly 80 contestants from all over the world. This is the fourth of Miss Grand International and the first time Viet Nam is among the top 20.
Nguyen Thi Loan was among the top five in Miss Viet Nam 2010 and the winner of this pageant’s beauty swimsuit contest, second runner-up at Miss Ethnic Minorities 2013 and among the top 25 at Miss World 2014.
